Archaeology is not like history: it is more akin to the story of the land and our relationship with it, or the Landstory. The name might sound rather grand but it is the way I've come to see things, working as a freelance archaeologist based in Stornoway. So may I welcome you to Landstory Lewis, where obscure archaeological research such as my own and also that of others working on the island is publicised for general interest. It is also a place where anyone who requires an archaeologist on the island can get in touch. I'm going to update this blog page from time to time with any interesting developments on Lewis and Harris, and also add more downloadable pdf reports to the main page as they are completed.
